How To Tell The Difference Between Termites and Ants

If you’re a homeowner, you’re likely to have encountered termites and or ants with wings that look suspiciously like termites at one point or another. Here are some tips that can help you tell the difference the next time you spot one of these unwelcome home invaders.

Ants vs. Termites

Ants

  • Ants have straight antenna with one bend. It kind of looks like an elbow.
  • They have  tiny waists.
  • They have two pairs of wings where the front set is longer than the back set.

Termites

  • Termites have straight, beaded antenna.
  • They have broad waists.
  • They have two pairs of wings, both equal lengths.

If you suspect you have either pest in your home, it is advised you consult a professional exterminator in your area. If you’re in the Philadelphia area, contact us at cityandsuburbs@gmail.com
